UMBC Nets Two #AEWLAX Weekly Awards for Second Time

BOSTON – UMBC and Vermont women’s lacrosse each improved to 3-1 while No. 5 Stony Brook picked up its first win of the season in the Seawolves’ home opener.
 
This week’s action starts Wednesday as New Hampshire visits Boston University and Binghamton hosts Lafayette. The Seawolves visit No. 11 Florida on Saturday.
 
 
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEWLAX this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

Offensive Player of the Week
Claire Bockstie, UMBC – Jr., Attack, Forest Hill, Md.
  • Bockstie’s eight points led UMBC to a win over George Washington.
  • She scored five goals and chipped in three assists.
  • This is her second career Player of the Week.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Haley Dillon, Stony Brook – Gr., Defender, Mount Sinai, N.Y.
  • Caused three turnovers and anchored a defense that allowed just three goals to Dartmouth.
  • Dillon and the Seawolves held Big Green to just nine shots.
  • This is her first career Player of the Week honor.
 
Rookie of the Week
Kolby Weedon, UMBC – Fr., Attack, Catonsville, Md.
  • Had her second career five-point game against George Washington.
  • Weedon scored four goals and added a helper.
  • This is her second #AEWLAX weekly honor.
