UMBC Improves to 2-1 Behind Gerow's Seven Goals

BOSTON – Binghamton was victorious in its season opener while UAlbany and UMass Lowell also earned their first wins of the season last week.
 
UMBC and Vermont now have two wins apiece following wins over American and Boston University, respectively. Stony Brook checks in at No. 4 in this week's Inside Lacrosse/IWLCA poll after a one-goal defeat at No. 3 Syracuse.

Offensive Player of the Week
Dymin Gerow, UMBC – So., Attack, Baltimore, Md.
  • Scored seven goals and added three helpers in two games.
  • Gerow led the Retrievers to a win over American with four goals and three assists.
  • This is her second consecutive Player of the Week and third of her career.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Emily Manning, Binghamton – Jr., Goalkeeper, West Sayville, N.Y.
  • Saved nine shots in win over Colgate for a .692 save percentage.
  • Allowed just four goals in 14-4 final.
  • This is her first career Player of the Week honor.
 
Rookie of the Week
Abby Carroll, Binghamton – Fr., Midfielder, Holtsville, N.Y.
  • Had a five-point outburst to lead the Bearcats to victory.
  • Carroll scored four goals and notched her first collegiate assist.
  • First career #AEWLAX weekly honor.
