Athletic Excellence: 2020-21 All-Americans

Fifteen America East student-athletes were deemed All-Americans for their athletic achievements in 2020-21.
 
Ally Kennedy headlined the group as the IWLCA Midfielder of the Year. Kennedy, who ranks in the top-10 in goals in Division I history, was named an IWLCA and Inside Lacrosse first-team All-American while teammate Taryn Ohlmiller earned IWLCA second-team All-America honors in women’s lacrosse. Ohlmiller compiled the third-most points of all time in her decorated career at Stony Brook.
 
Binghamton distance runner Emily Mackay capped her senior season with her second All-American denomination. After earning All-America honors in cross country, Mackay finished seventh in the 5,000m at NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships last weekend for a spot on the All-America First Team. UMass Lowell’s Kaley Richards earned All-America status for the third time this year, receiving a spot on the second team at outdoors after she was named an All-American in both indoor track and field and cross country. Fellow River Hawk Chris Alfond earned honorable mention honors after running the 10,000m at outdoor championships.
 
Maine junior Nick Sinacola was named a first-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball and second-team All-American by NCBWA after a historically dominant season. The America East Pitcher of the Year set an #AEBASE single-season record with 139 strikeouts and ranked second in the country in strikeouts per nine innings. UMass Lowell’s Jimmy Sullivan was named a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball.
 
A trio of #AEMSOC student-athletes were named All-Americans by United Soccer Coaches led by America East Defender of the Year Bridger Hansen. The New Hampshire back earned a spot on the first team while teammate Paul Mayer and Vermont’s Alex Nagy earned third team honors.
 
In field hockey, the nation’s second-leading goal scorer and three-time America East Offensive Player of the Year Corinne Zanolli was named a NFHCA first-team All-American. Maine senior and America East Midfielder of the Year Hana Davis earned a spot on the second team while Monmouth senior and Defender of the Year Ireen Frenken was named to the third team.
 
A pair of Vermont men’s lacrosse players were named Honorable Mention All-Americans by both Inside Lacrosse and USILA in Thomas McConvey and Tommy Burke. The Catamounts capped a historic season with their first appearance in the NCAA Championship.
 
America East volleyball Player of the Year Kamara Kelly earned AVCA honorable mention honors.
