BOSTON – An exciting final weekend of the regular-season wrapped up 2021 #AESB and saw UMBC take two of three games from Stony Brook to win its first ever America East softball regular-season title.
The Retrievers will host the 2021 #AESB Championship at The Diamond at UMBC on May 13-15. UAlbany, Stony Brook and UMass Lowell make up the other three teams in the field. Full championship details.

#AESB Weekly Award Winners – May 10, 2021
Courtney Cashman, UMass Lowell – Gr., Shortstop, Danvers, Mass.
- Had a slash line of .462/.533/1.000 in four games to help UMass Lowell lock up a tournament spot.
- Belted two home runs and double with four RBI and three runs scored.
- Hit a pair of home runs, drove in five and scored six runs.
- This is Cashman’s second Player of the Week honor of the season and sixth of her career.
Pitcher of the Week
Wendi Hammond, UAlbany – So., Pitcher, Chemung, N.Y.
- Threw a pair of complete-game shutouts to help UAlbany sweep Maine and earn the No. 2 seed for the championship.
- Struck out 12.
- This is Hammond’s first career Pitcher of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Allison L’Amoreaux, Binghamton – Fr., Pitcher, Endwell, N.Y.
- Earned a win vs. Hartford by tossing five scoreless innings.
- Allowed just one hit and struck out seven.
- This is L’Amoreaux’s second-straight Rookie of the Week honor of the season.
