BOSTON – UAlbany, Maine and Stony Brook won conference softball series last week with the Seawolves sweeping Hartford to improve to 5-0 while the Great Danes and Black Bears took two of three from Binghamton and UMass Lowell, respectively.
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AESB this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Melissa Rahrich, Stony Brook – Gr., Pitcher, Boulder, Colo.
- Slashed .500/.625/.833 with seven RBIs in four games including a three-game sweep of Hartford.
- This is Rahrich’s first Player of the Week award of the season.
Pitcher of the Week
Courtney Coppersmith, UMBC – Jr. Pitcher, York, Pa.
- Allowed just one earned run on two hits in a complete-game effort to lead UMBC to a win over Villanova.
- Fanned 13 hitters.
- This is Coppersmith third Pitcher of the Week award of the season and 11th of her career.
Rookie of the Week
Kyra McFarland, Stony Brook – Fr., Infielder, Greely, Colo.
- Hit .364 with three walks, six runs scored and three stolen bases to help Stony Brook sweep Hartford.
- This is McFarland’s second career Rookie of the Week honor.
