UAlbany, Stony Brook Take #AESB Series

BOSTON – UAlbany and Stony Brook took #AESB series over the weekend with the Great Danes sweeping Hartford and the Seawolves taking two of three games from Maine. UMass Lowell and UMBC split a doubleheader. Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AESB this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

#AESB Weekly Award Winners – April 27
Lové Drumgole, UAlbany – Jr., Infielder, Mount Sinai, N.Y. 
  • Had a 1.445 OPS in a three-game sweep of Hartford.
  • Had three doubles, five runs scored and five RBI.
  • This is Drumgole’s first career Player of the Week award.
Pitcher of the Week
Courtney Coppersmith, UMBC – So., Pitcher, Erie, Pa.
  • Hurled her sixth career no-hitter in shutout vs. UMass Lowell.
  • Walked only one, the first batter of the game and faced the minimum.
  • Struck out 17.
  • This is Coppersmith’s fourth Pitcher of the Week award this season
Rookie of the Week
Ashley Della Guardia, UMBC – Fr., Utility, Phoenixville, Pa.
  • Went 3-for-6 with two walks, two doubles and a run scored in two games.
  • This is Della Guardia’s third Rookie of the Week honor of the season.
