BOSTON – UAlbany, UMBC and New Hampshire all won road games last weekend. In doing so, the Great Danes improved to 6-1 in league play with two games remaining.
The top-two teams in the league are scheduled for a Saturday showdown as the Great Danes get set to host No. 6 Stony Brook.
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEWLAX this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. #AEWLAX Weekly Award Winners – April 19
Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week
Dymin Gerow, UMBC – Fr., Attack, Baltimore, Md.
- Led UMBC to victory over Vermont with a career-high five goals.
- Gerow cashed in on all five shots on goal and took seven shots total.
- The freshman also had a pair of draw controls and caused three turnovers.
- This is her first career Offensive Player of the Week award and second Rookie of the Week award.
- Gerow is the first student-athlete to win both awards in the same week since UNH's Catherine Sexton in 2016.
Defensive Player of the Week
Issy Torres, New Hampshire – Jr., Goalkeeper, Elmhurst, Ill.
- Made 11 saves in UNH’s win over Hartford.
- Scooped up a game-high four ground balls.
- Torres also caused two turnovers.
- This is her first Defensive Player of the Week award of her career.
