Offensive Outbursts Highlight Week 6 in #AEWLAX

BOSTON – UMass Lowell, UAlbany, Stony Brook and UMBC all won conference games in women’s lacrosse last weekend, the latter two earning victories on the road.
 
With the Great Danes topping Vermont, Stony Brook is now the lone unbeaten team in league play. At 4-0, the Seawolves have won six-straight games. The Great Danes and Catamounts follow in the standings with 3-1 records in conference play. A full slate of games is scheduled for Saturday with a trio set for 11 a.m. on AmericaEast.tv.

  Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEWLAX this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

#AEWLAX Weekly Award Winners – Mar. 29
Offensive Player of the Week
Molly Shaw, UMass Lowell – So., Midfielder, Marshfield, Mass.
  • Career-high six goals to lead the River Hawks over UNH.
  • Shaw tallied an assist to set a new career best with seven points in a game.
  • With UNH leading 2-1, Shaw scored consecutive goals to give the River Hawks the lead for good.
  • This is her first career Offensive Player of the Week nod.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Georgia Schneidereith, UAlbany – Gr., Goalkeeper, Baltimore, Md.
  • Against Vermont, Schneidereith surrendered just five goals while making five saves.
  • She held the Catamounts to their lowest goal total of the season.
  • Made 12 saves in two games last week.
  • This is her second career Defensive Player of the Week award and first this season.
 
Rookie of the Week
Katie Pascale, UAlbany – Fr., Midfielder, Baldwinsville, N.Y.
  • Totaled five goals and four assists in UAlbany’s 1-1 week.
  • Four of Pascale’s goals came in the win over Vermont.
  • She also helped the Great Danes with a game-high three assists.
  • This is her third-straight Rookie of the Week award and fourth overall.
