Stony Brook, Vermont Improve to 3-0 in #AEWLAX Play

BOSTON – Tewaaraton Award Watch List members Ally Kennedy and Taryn Ohlmiller kept their engines running at full speed to help No. 6 Stony Brook to its third #AEWLAX win of the season.
 
The Seawolves are tied atop the standings with the Vermont Catamounts who are 3-0 in conference play for the first time in program history. Four more league games are scheduled for the weekend as UMass Lowell hosts New Hampshire, Binghamton hosts UMBC and UAlbany hosts Vermont on Saturday. Hartford is scheduled to host Stony Brook on Sunday.
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEWLAX this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

Offensive Player of the Week
Ally Kennedy, Stony Brook – Gr., Midfielder, North Babylon, N.Y.
  • Scored game-high six goals to lead Stony Brook to victory over UAlbany.
  • The multi-talented All-American also tied a game best with six draw controls.
  • Kennedy’s six goals are her highest single-game total this season.
  • This is her second Offensive Player of the Week award this season and eighth of her career.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Sophie McLaughlin, Vermont – Jr., Goalkeeper, Keene, N.H.
  • Logged third-straight game with double-digit saves.
  • McLaughlin saved 12 shots for a .545 save percentage against Binghamton.
  • She allowed ten goals.
  • This is her second consecutive Defensive Player of the Week award and third of her career.
 
Rookie of the Week
Katie Pascale, UAlbany – Fr., Midfielder, Baldwinsville, N.Y.
  • Tallied five points in Saturday’s game against Stony Brook.
  • Pascale dished out a team-high three assists.
  • She scored a pair of goals, converting on each of her two shots
  • This is her second-straight Rookie of the Week award and third overall.
