BOSTON – Six teams played non-conference games last weekend, with five picking up wins including Stony Brook sweeping a doubleheader from ACC-foe Boston College on Sunday.
Conference play begins this week with three series. UMBC hosts Hartford, UMass Lowell entertains UAlbany and Stony Brook welcomes Binghamton.
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AESB this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

#AESB Weekly Award Winners – March 22
Kelly Barkevich, UAlbany – Sr., Infielder, Clifton Park, N.Y.
- Slashed .462/.533/.769 in four games.
- Hit an HR and a double along with scoring three runs scored and driving in five.
- This is Barkevich’s first Player of the Week award of the season.
Pitcher of the Week
Courtney Coppersmith, UMBC – So., Pitcher, York, Pa.
- Went 2-0 in seven scoreless innings pitched while allowing just one hit and striking out 15.
- This is Coppersmith’s second Pitcher of the Week award of the season and 10th of her career.
Rookie of the Week
Ashley Della Guardia, UMBC – Fr., First Base, Phoenixville, Pa.
- Hit .300, including a pair of doubles, and scored five runs in a four-game sweep of Morgan State
- This is Della Guardia’s second career Rookie of the Week honor.
