Maine, Albany Advance to #AETourney Championship Game

The stage is set for the 2016 America East Women's Basketball Championship as the top-two seeds advanced to the title game with semifinal wins on Sunday at Binghamton University's Events Center. No. 2 seed Maine topped No. 3 Stony Brook, 51-48, in the first semifinal, while No. 1 Albany beat No. 5 Binghamton, 79-43, in the nightcap. 

The 2016 America East Women's Basketball Championship game will be held at University at Albany's SEFCU Arena on Friday, March 11 at 4:30 PM on ESPNU. It will feature the top-two seeds for the 14th time in America East history and the third time in the last four years.

Albany is advancing to its fifth-straight title game and will look to make conference history by winning the championship for the fifth consecutive season. 

Maine will be playing in its 16th conference title game but first since 2004.
