STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- Stony Brook University and University at Albany will decide the America East Men's Lacrosse title on Saturday, May 8 at 1 p.m at La Valle Stadium.

The game will be broadcast live and for free at www.AmericaEast.tv. and the winner will receive the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship.

The top-seeded Seawolves (11-3), who are ranked sixth nationally in the USILA Coaches' Poll and seventh in the Inside Lacrosse/Media Poll, beat fourth-seeded Vermont, 10-6, on Tuesday to advance to their second straight championship game RECAP. Winners of seven straight overall, Stony Brook features the nation's second-ranked offense (14.0 gpg) and are led by the country's leading scorer, junior Kevin Crowley (68 pts - 43 g, 25 a), the America East Player of the Year, and junior Jordan McBride, who paces the nation with 43 goals (4.9 gpg).

The third-seeded Great Danes (5-10) upset second-seeded UMBC, 11-7, on Wednesday to advance to its eighth title game in nine years RECAP. Albany has won three of three last five games after starting the season with just two wins in its first 10 contests. UA has dealt with key injuries this season, losing attackers Brian Caufield and Joe Resetarits, both first-team all-league standouts last year, for the season. Senior Dave Brock, a second-team all-league choice, has picked up the pace and has a team-best 32 goals, good for sixth-best in the league.

These two teams have met twice previously for the conference crown. The Seawolves upset top-seeded Albany, 8-6, in 2002, while the Great Danes posted a 16-7 win in 2005. Stony Brook shut out the Great Danes, 15-0, in the two teams' regular-season meeting on April 24 in Albany.

Tickets for the game can be purchased through Stony Brook's online system. Prices are $8 for adults, $5 for youth and $2 for students of America East institutions with proper ID. Fans can also call the Stony Brook box office at 631-632-WOLF. Box office hours are weekdays 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
