BOSTON – Four America East women’s soccer teams went unbeaten over the week, as UAlbany and UMBC picked up two victories, Bryant went 1-0-1 and Maine won its only outing
 

Need to Know

• UAlbany took down both Stonehill and Le Moyne with 2-1 victories.
• UMBC defeated Towson, 3-1, before shutting out Wagner, 1-0.
• Bryant played to a 1-1 draw with Rhode Island before shutting out New Haven, 1-0.
• Aja Turner recorded a brace in Maine’s come-from-behind win over Army.
• Binghamton shut out Syracuse, 1-0, to earn its first victory over an ACC program.
• New Hampshire, NJIT and Vermont each recorded victories over Merrimack, Wagner and Saint Joseph’s, respectively.
• Twelve more games take place this week, with conference play beginning in under two weeks.
• The #AEWSOC preseason poll and All-Conference teams were announced on July 30. Three-time defending league champion Maine was chosen the 2026 favorite while last year’s regular-season champion Binghamton was second - link.

 

Weekly Award Winners – Sept. 8

Offensive Player of the Week
Aja Turner, Maine – Jr., Forward, Calgary, Alberta

• Scored both goals in Maine’s victory over Army.
• This is Turner’s first career #AEWSOC Offensive Player of the Week honor.

Defensive Player of the Week
Olivia Nardone, UMBC – So., Defender, Millersville, Md.

• Anchored UMBC’s defense in two wins against Wagner and Towson.
• Assisted on the game-winner against Towson.
• This is Nardone’s second career #AEWSOC Defensive Player of the Week honor.

Goalkeeper of the Week
Amara Codd, UMBC – Sr., Goalkeeper, Stafford, Va.

• Stopped 9 of 10 shots she faced in a 2-0 week.
• Logged four saves in the 3-1 win over Towson before turning away five shots in a 1-0 shutout against Wagner.
• This is Codd’s second #AEWSOC Goalkeeper of the Week honor of the season.

Rookie of the Week
Eleni Stowell, Vermont – Fr., Midfielder, Westford, Mass.

• Scored her first collegiate goal against Boston College.
• Found the back of the net for the second time when she scored the opening goal in the 2-1 win over Saint Joseph’s.
• This is Stowell’s first career #AEWSOC Rookie of the Week honor.
