Men's Lacrosse 5/3/2026 9:50:40 PM UAlbany Men’s Lacrosse to Face No. 3 North Carolina In NCAA Tournament BOSTON – Following the program’s third consecutive America East championship, UAlbany men’s lacrosse will battle No. 3 North Carolina in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, May 9. The Great Danes went 6-0 in conference play before taking down UMBC (14-3) and Vermont (14-11) in the #AEMLAX Championship. UAlbany is led by the most lethal offense the stout defense in the league. Senior Silas Richmond leads the league with 72 points on 38 goals and 34 assists, while Championship MOP Ryan Doherty is coming off nine goals and two assists in the conference tournament. The defense is led by a trio of first-team all-conference performers, including Defensive Player of the Year Max Neeson. The Tar Heels are 12-4 overall and coming off a 16-6 loss to Virginia in the ACC Championship on Sunday. They are led by Owen Duffy who has 69 points on 30 goals and 39 assists, while Dominic Pietramala has 43 goals and seven assists. North Carolina and UAlbany have one common opponent in UPenn. The Tar Heels won 11-9, while the UAlbany lost 15-10.
