#AETF Week 3: One Month Until the #AETF Championship

BOSTON – All nine #AETF programs competed this past weekend at meets throughout the country, posting several marks that rank in the top 48 of the East Region.

#AETF Weekly Award Winners – April 7

Female Field Athlete of the Week
Ava Roberts, UMBC – Gr., Throws, Elkins Park, Pa.

  • Roberts won the shot put at the Dalton Ebanks Invite.
  • Her shot put toss of 16.42m ranks 15th nationally.
  • Roberts also won the discus with a throw of 49.06m and recorded a personal-best 51.05m in the hammer throw.
  • This is Roberts’ first #AETF Athlete of the Week honor this outdoor season.

Female Athlete & Rookie of the Week
Enazajah Young, UMBC – Fr., Hurdles, New Market, Md.

  • Young broke the UMBC program record in the 100m hurdles for the third consecutive week.
  • Her time of 13.44 ranks 46th nationally.
  • The first-year also clocked a time of 11.78 in the 100m dash.
  • This is Young’s first outdoor #AETF Athlete of the Week honor.

Male Field Athlete of the Week
Brennan Delaney, Binghamton – Jr., Multis, Hornell, N.Y.

  • Recorded the 10th-best score nationally in the decathlon at the Texas Relays.
  • His score of 7,181 also ranks first in the East Region.
  • This is Delaney’s first #AETF Athlete of the Week honor of the outdoor season.

Male Track Athlete of the Week
Jacob Smith, UAlbany – Gr., Mid-Distance, Kendal, UK

  • Ran a UAlbany school-record 3:42.62 in the 1500m at the Florida Relays.
  • Smith’s school-record time ranks 44th nationally.
  • Also recorded a time of 1:55.87 in the 800m.
  • This is Smith’s first #AETF Athlete of the Week honor during the outdoor season.

Male Rookie of the Week
Leonard Durau, UAlbany – Fr., Jumps, Constanta, Romania

  • Leaped 15.20m in the triple jump to take runner-up honors at the Florida Relays.
  • His jump ranks 50th in the nation.
  • This is Durau’s first #AETF Athlete of the Week honor during the outdoor season.
