INDIANAPOLIS - UMBC standout Emily Escobedo travels to Indianapolis for the NCAA Championships, which will start on Wednesday at IUPUI.
The four-time America East Most Outstanding Swimmer won six gold medals at this year's America East Swimming and Diving Championship in Worcester, Mass., including the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard individual medley. Escobedo has dominated all three events in America East Championships throughout her four-year career.
She is seeded 13th at nationals in the 200 IM, 10th in the 100 breast and third in the 200 breast. An Honorable Mention All-American at the 2016 NCAA Chamionships, Escobedo placed third in the 200-yard breast.
With her participation at this year's championships, Escobedo will become the first America East swimmer to qualify and compete in the meet all four years of her career.
