2006 America East Cross Country Season-In-Review

Men’s Cross Country
? Jordan Horwitz, who finished second, was one of four Wildcats in the Top 20 as New Hampshire won the America East Men’s Cross Country Championship at Orono, Maine.

? Kirby Davis, running on his home course, became the third runner in the 18-year history of the conference to record back-to-back championships. Davis covered the 8,000-meter course in 24:30.40, the fifth-fastest time in conference history.

Women’s Cross Country
? Marisa Ryan of Boston University finished second in a time of 17:08.40 to lead the Terriers to their 10th America East Women’s Cross Country Championship in 11 years and 15th crown in the 18-year history of the event.

? Cathy Parker of New Hampshire became the first Wildcat individual champion, and only the second woman in conference history to break the 17-minute mark. Parker covered the 5,000-meter course in 16:50.30.

? Parker, who finished fourth at the NCAA Regional at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, N.Y., and Ryan, who finished ninth at the regional, advanced to the NCAA Women’s Cross Country Championship at Terre Haute, Ind.
