Chad Dwyer, who is begining his 15th year at America East, was promoted to Senior Associate Commissioner, Championships & Sport Policy in July, 2020.
He had served as Associate Commissioner for the preceding five years and in his role oversees policies and operations for America East’s 18 championship sports, including the planning and event operations for America East championships. Dwyer, who is the primary administrative contact for select sports, including women’s basketball, also oversees the league’s officiating bureau for a number of sports and is the conference’s primary liaison to the Championships and Competition Committee (CCC) and the America East Alumni Network.
Additionally, Dwyer has serverd on the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Committee and is past chair.of the Men's Lacrosse Officiating Group and a member of the USILA Board of Directors.
During his tenure at the America East Conference, Dwyer has steadily increased his responsibilities as he advanced through several roles. He joined the staff in September, 2008 as Sport/Championships Administrator and in July, 2010, was promoted to Director of Championships before being elevated to Assistant Commissioner in July, 2012.
From 2007-2008, Dwyer was the Asa S. Bushnell Championships Assistant at the ECAC, where he assisted in the planning and execution of over 90 championships across all three division of college athletics.
Dwyer earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Stonehill College in 2001 and his MS in athletic administration from Springfield College in 2007.
