Ava Detorie joined the America East as the Assistant Director of Operations & Communications in October 2026.
Detorie most recently served as a social media intern for the McGovern Automotive Group for the past year, where she produced and edited video content to higheset various aspects of the dealership. She also developed creative content and assisted with the creative direction of marketing initiatives across multiple dealership locations.
A 2026 graduate of Ithaca College, Detorie served as the social media manager for the Ithaca College women's soccer program where she designed graphics and oversaw the creative direction of the program's social media content. She also assisted the athletic department during its Media Days and in the College's annual giving day to help increase awareness and donor engagement. While at Ithaca she also served as a member of the athletics event staff, assisting in game day operations, in-game promotions and improving fan atmosphere. Detorie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ithaca College with a degree in Communication, Management and Design.
In her role at the America East, she will manage office operations and conference meeting plans, alongside supporting the content team as a primary communications contact in select sports. Detorie will execute social and digital media strategies, write press releases as well as assist in championship preparation and coverage.
Detorie was a four-year women's soccer student-athlete at Ithaca College and third-team all-conference selection who helped the Bombers win a pair of Liberty League championships and earn two trips to the NCAA Tournament.
