Ben Stockwell joined the America East staff in May of 2022 as the Director of Communications & Media and was promoted to Senior Director in July, 2025.

Stockell oversees the day-to-day communications and overall digital strategy of the America East. He serves as the men's soccer and women's basketball sport contact for the conference, as well as other sports throughout the academic year. In 2024 he helped redesign AmericaEast.com as part of the conference's rebrand efforts to better meet the changing needs of the league's followers.

Stockwell came to the America East after serving as the Director of Strategic Communications for Multimedia Services at the Northeast-10 Conference from 2019-2022.

While at the NE10, Stockwell directed the multimedia efforts for the league’s 24 sports, oversaw the conference’s digital streaming network and the social media strategy. He helped the Division II conference rank among the top 20 conferences nationally in social media interactions, regardless of division. Stockwell also served as the primary contact for a number of sports and was the NE10’s primary videographer.
 
An experienced Athletic Communications professional, Stockwell previously served as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications at Division II Assumption University for three years. He oversaw communications, marketing and promotions for the entire athletic department and its 24 varsity sports programs.
 
Prior to Assumption he worked at Division III Castleton University for five years, rising from the position of graduate assistant to Director of Athletic Communications for the school's 29 varsity sports. Stockwell also spent two years at the University of Pennsylvania as a Sports Information Assistant, working as the primary contact for the women’s volleyball program, which captured back-to-back Ivy League Championships.

Stockwell is a member of CoSIDA and has presented on strategic social media at the annual CoSIDA convention, along with the East Comm regional convention. He graduated with a degree in Sports Media from Ithaca College in 2008 and earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Castleton in 2014. He currently resides in Sharon, Mass. with his wife Caroline and their three sons.
