Sierra Whitlock joined America East as its Assistant Director for Championships & Operations in May, 2021. She was promoted to Associate Director in July, 2022 and to Director in July, 2025.
At America East, Whitlock assists with all aspects of the conference’s internal operations, including sport administration, championship oversight and business operations. She has also served as the director of the America East Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships since 2023.
Whitlock came to America East from VCU, where she served as a facilities graduate assistant for the last two years. There, she coordinated the management of athletic facilities and event operations including security, housekeeping, parking and staffing. In addition to several other work experiences in the industry, Whitlock was a student assistant in facilities as an undergraduate at the University of New Haven.
Born and raised in Woodbridge, Va., Whitlock earned her undergraduate degree in 2019 from the University of New Haven. While at New Haven, she was a four-year student-athlete on the softball team and a member of two NCAA tournament teams. She served as the women’s VP of New Haven’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Whitlock earned her dual master’s degree in business administration and sport leadership from VCU in May 2021.
