Albany's Justin Berger Named National SAAC Representative

The America East Conference is proud to announce that University at Albany graduate student Justin Berger has been named the conference's National Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative.

Berger is a former men's lacrosse student-athlete at the University at Albany. After graduating in May, he is pursuing his master's degree while working in the UAlbany athletic academic support center. He won two America East men's lacrosse titles with the Great Danes in 2014 and 2015 while playing in three-straight NCAA tournaments from 2014-16.

An outstanding member of the UAlbany community both on and off the field, Berger was honored with the 2016 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence while also receiving the President's Outstanding Senior Award and the SAAC Award.

While serving as UAlbany SAAC Co-President, Berger helped organize and implement a student-athlete wide toiletry drive benefitting the Homeless and Travelers Aid Society, volunteered at the UAlbany You Can Play and Food Drive events, and organized the filming of a student-athlete video in support of the You Can Play Project. His community service efforts earned him spots on the America East Helping Hands Team in 2015 and 2016.

Berger will begin his duties at the NCAA National SAAC meeting October 1-2 in Indianapolis. His term will complete on May 31, 2017.
