BOSTON - The fifth America East women's tennis Player of the Week honor was awarded on Wednesday as the conference's five teams, Albany, Binghamton, Hartford, UMBC and Stony Brook seasons are heating up. Stony Brook defeated UMBC at the Retriever Tennis Complex 4-3. The Retrievers took the double point, while the Seawolves earned singles wins at No. 2,3,4 and 6, helping them capture the match. Albany defeated Fordham 5-2, marking their first ever victory over an Alantic-10 school.

Yana Nikolaeva, Stony Brook - So., Thornhill, Ontario
- Teamed with Elizabeth Tsvetkov to capture a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles.
- Nikolaeva is 5-2 in doubles action w/ Tsvetkov and 14-8 in overall doubles matches.
- She beat UMBC’s Madlena Kurasz, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 singles.
- Nikolaeva is 6-2 in dual singles matches and 14-4 overall.
