Escobedo & Mann to compete at the NCAA Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The America East Conference will have two swimmers competing at the 2015 NCAA Women's Division I Swimming & Diving Championship.  Sophomore Emily Escobedo earns her second consecutive invitation, and New Hampshire senior Katie Mann has been selected for her third.

Escobedo qualified in the 200-yard breaststroke, the same event that took her to nationals lest year.  She is the first female Retriever to be making the national meet twice, in back-to-back years.

For the second consecutive year, Escobedo was named the America East Most Outstanding Swimmer at the America East Swimming & Diving Championship.  At the conference gathering she broke UMBC’s school record in the 200-breaststroke, touching the wall in 2:09.66.

Mann caps off her senior season at New Hampshire earning an invitation to go to Greensboro, N.C. to compete in the 200 and 400-yard individual medley, as well as the 200-yard breaststroke.

Mann was the recipient of the David Alexander Coaches Award at the conference championship this year, as well as the Elite 18 award.

The NCAA Women’s Division I Championships begins on Thursday, March 19th, and runs through the 21st.  The event can be watched live on www.NCAA.com on Thursday, then www.ESPN3.com for the final sessions the following days.  Additionally, the entire championship will be aired in a two hour broadcast via tape delay on ESPN at 6 P.M. on Tuesday, March 31st
