CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Maine was the lone America East school to compete this past week. The Black Bears took a trip to Lewiston, Maine and competed against Bates on Saturday in a dual meet. Below is the week 7 #AESD award winner:
Swimmer Performer of the Week
Naja Harvey, Maine, Senior, Orono, Minnesota
- Senior Naja Harvey set a pair of school records on Saturday against Bates in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke.
- Harvey won the 100-breast with a time of 1:05.51, and the 200-breast in 2:25.71.
- The senior was additionally part of the 200-yard medley relay team that captured first place in 1:50.61 and the 200-yard freestyle relay team that won at 1:38.63.
- Maine defeated the Bates Bobcats in the dual meet by score of 167-127
Swimming & Diving Notes
- Maine, the lone school to compete this past week, was victorious in their dual meet against the Bobcat Bearcats on December 6th by a score of 167-127.
- Naja Harvey was the leader for the Black Bears, winning two individual events, and two medleys.
- Harvey set two pool records with her 100-breaststroke and 200-breastroke time, finishing at 1:05.51 and 2:25.71.
- There are no more meets for America East teams this calendar year; UMBC hosts Howard on the January 10th, Binghamton returns to action January 16th against Colgate, and Maine will go up against Bowdoin, UNH travels to Yale on the 17th and Vermont will travel to Boston to take on Northeastern on the 17th.
