America East FAQ

The America East has excelled has an elite Division I athletic conference since 1979. It currently features nine schools spread throughout eight states and sponsors 18 sports. Recent athletic success is highlighted Vermont men's soccer capturing the 2024 NCAA National Championship, 2-1 in double overtime, while playing the toughest schedule in the nation. The America East is also home to the greatest upset in NCAA men’s basketball tournament history (UMBC, 2018), individual national champions in track & field, top-ranked teams in men’s and women’s lacrosse and deep NCAA championship runs by several different programs, including Final Four berths in field hockey (UAlbany, 2014), men’s soccer (UMBC, 2014) and men’s lacrosse (UAlbany, 2018) as well as a College World Series appearance (Stony Brook 2012).
