Vote for Stony Brook's Brenton to Lou Henson Award
Stony Brook senior Tommy Brenton was been named one of 25 finalists for the 2013 Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award earlier this week. The award is given to the country's top player from a mid-major conference by CollegeInsider.com. Brenton is third in America East in both rebounding (8.8 rpg) and assists (4.8 apg), fourth in steals (1.6 spg), first in assists-to-turnover ratio (2.3-to-1) while averaging 9.0 points per game. Fans can have their say by voting for Brenton as fan vote accounts for 33 percent of the deciding total.

Roesch Tabbed Senior CLASS Award Nominee
Boston University softball standout Emily Roesch was named a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award last week. The senior infielder, a two-team all-America East choice as well a two-time NFCA Scholar-Athlete is one of 30 nominees for honor. The candidate class will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season, and those names will be placed on the official ballot. Full Candidate List

Lacrosse Standouts Named to Tewaraaton Award Watch List
The Tewaraaton Award is given to the nation's top men's and women's lacrosse players in the county and 11 America East standouts have been named to the 2013 Watch List. On the men's side, Albany's Thompson trio, brothers Miles and Lyle and cousin Ty are lists along with Binghamton's Tyler Perrelle, UMBC's Scott Jones, Stony Brook's Jeff Tundo and Vermont's Drew Philie are men's candidates. Albany's Ariana Parker, Boston University's Danielle Estrasco and Stony Brook's Demmianne Cook and Claire Petersen are women's candidates.

Three Hoops Teams Ranked in Mid-Major Top 25
Stony Brook men and Albany and Boston University women are ranked in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25. The Seawolves, are 22-6 and wrapped up their third regular-season crown in four seasons Thursday, are 19th.
