New for the 2011-2012 seasons, the America East Daily Word, a collaboration between AExtra and AmericaEast.com, will recap the previous day's games and on goings on our nine campuses and provide links to previews, recaps, features and exclusive coverage.
We
had a busy night on the hardwood last night with seven games on the docket and
some good ones at that. Today’ Daily Word will take you through those games –
recaps and highlights – and bring you up to speed on the latest in America East
hoops.
Let’s
lead things off in Albany in a battle between two women’s teams undefeated in
conference play. Boston U., sitting at 4-0, made the trek west on I-90 to take
on the 5-0 Great Danes.
Albany
stormed out of the gates and went into the locker room leading the Terriers by
five. Boston U., however, made some key runs in the second outscoring the Danes
by nine in the frame to get out of Albany with a 58-54 win.
“They
played until the end,” Albany coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson said postgame
about her team’s effort. “If you are going to play at our house, at our gym, if
you ever play Albany you are in for a fight.”
Mo
Moran led Boston U. with 17 points while Ebone Henry paced Albany, also with 17
points.
The
Times Union wrapped this one up from Albany and you can take a look at some
highlights, here.
