In this edition of "America East Online", the show
profiles the latest stories and achievements of the America East Conference.
America East Online is a 20-minute web-only show which features all nine of the
conference's campuses and highlights athletics, academics and leadership.
The episode begins with a look back on the 2010-11 men's and
women's basketball regular season. In this segment, UMBC head coach Phil
Stern and Vermont head coach Mike Lonergan discuss some of the keys to securing
regular season championships, as well as what some of the keys will be to
having success in the upcoming conference tournament.
The next segment is a feature on Albany track and field head
coach Roberto Vives. Vives, who recently led the Great Danes to victory in the
America East indoor championship, discusses how his role as head coach has
evolved over the past 26 years and the importance of his student-athletes
succeeding in the classroom.
The student-athlete profile this week features "America
East Online" host Max Mandel in an interview with Boston University
women's lacrosse player Catie Tilton. The redshirt-junior has seen her role
steadily grow throughout her career and this season she is prepared to take on
more of a leadership role as she looks to lead the Terriers to another America
East Championship.
The episode concludes with the Best of U. series. This Best
of U. focuses on the Newman's Own Campus Community Service Challenge. The
segment gives fans glimpses into a number of the community service projects from
the nine member institutions that were selected by the Newman's Own Foundation.
The show, hosted by Mandel, will be available every
Wednesday throughout the basketball season. Fans can watch the web show at the
America East Zone on AmericaEast.com, as well as on the league's social media
web sites such as YouTube and Facebook.
