In this edition of "America East Online", the show
profiles the latest stories and achievements of the America East Conference.
America East Online is a 20-minute web-only show which features all nine of the
conference's campuses and highlights athletics, academics and leadership.
The episode begins with a feature on University at Albany
Director of Athletics Dr. Lee McElroy. In this segment, McElroy discusses
how he originally became involved in intercollegiate athletics, as well as some
of the keys to helping the Great Danes make the successful transition to the
Division I level.
The next segment continues the focus on former coaches of
the America East Conference with a profile on current Notre Dame head coach
Mike Brey. Brey discusses some of his favorite memories from his time at the
University of Delaware and the impact that coaching in the America East had on
developing him as a coach.
The student-athlete profile this week features "America
East Online" host Max Mandel in an interview with Binghamton track and field
student-athlete Cazal Arnett, who has been one of the top runners in the
conference over the past four years. In the interview, Arnett discusses how he
fell in love with track and field, as well as why he has been so actively-involved
in SAAC.
The episode concludes with the Best of U. series. This Best
of U. focuses on the Boston University swimming & diving team and how it
has rallied around senior diver Bailey O'Brien as she battles cancer. The
segment includes moving footage from the recently completed America East
Swimming & Diving Championship meet and an interview with diving teammate
Melinda Matyas.
The show, hosted by Mandel, will be available every
Wednesday throughout the basketball season. Fans can watch the web show at the
America East Zone on AmericaEast.com, as well as on the league's social media
web sites such as YouTube and Facebook.
