Cambridge, Mass.-- Three administrators from America East have been appointed to NCAA sport committees beginning on September 1, 2011.

America East Associate Commissioner/SWA Shonna Brown will serve on the Division I Women's Basketball Committee, while University of Hartford Associate Athletics Director/SWA Ellen Crandall has been named to the Division I Men's Lacrosse Commitee. Crandall will serve through 2015, while Brown's term is five years and will go through 2016.

Additionally, deputy director of athletics Steve Metcalf from University of New Hampshire has been selected to the men's and women's skiing committee. Metcalf's appointment will end September 1, 2015.

The committees for each of the NCAA sports are responsible for NCAA championship selections, evaluating teams throughout the season, participating on regional and national conference calls, selecting championship sites and assigning committee representatives to staff preliminary round games.
