Northeast Passage And Magic Paintbrush Project Highlight Episode 9 - AmericaEast.com

In this edition of "America East Online", the show profiles the latest stories and achievements of the America East Conference. America East Online is a 20-minute web-only show which features all nine of the conference's campuses and highlights athletics, academics and leadership.

The episode begins with a profile of the unique relationship between the Northeast Passage, which works with disabled student-athletes, and the University of New Hampshire Athletics Department. This segment includes interviews with New Hampshire Director of Athletics Marty Scarano, Northeast Passage Assistant Director Tom Carr and student-athlete Taylor Chace.

The next segment is the second part in a four-part series profiling former coaches of the America East Conference. This week, former Vermont women's basketball head coaches Cathy Inglese and Pam Borton discuss helping the Catamounts emerge as one of the top mid-majors in the Northeast in the 1990's.

The student-athlete profile this week features "America East Online" host Max Mandel in an interview with New Hampshire senior guard Tyrone Conley, who has emerged as a leader for the Wildcats. In the interview, Conley discusses how his approach on the court has changed due to the injuries UNH has faced this season, as well as some of his interests away from the basketball court.

The episode concludes with the Best Of U. series. This Best of U. profiles the Binghamton men's and women's basketball teams and their work with the Magic Paintbrush Project, which works with children battling a variety of disabilities. Interviews with women's basketball coach Nicole Scholl, men's basketball coach Mark Macon and senior forward Mahamoud Jabbi highlight the impact working with these kids has had on both teams.

The show, hosted by Mandel, will be available every Wednesday throughout the basketball season. Fans can watch the web show at the America East Zone on AmericaEast.com, as well as on the league's social media web sites such as YouTube and Facebook.
