BOSTON, Mass. -- America East On Campus, the conference's
30-minute magazine show, explores America East basketball in the third
installment of the show's sixth season. The episode will air Monday, Jan. 24 at
1:30 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet.
In this episode, host Eric Frede sets up shop at Case Gym on
the campus of Boston University. There he has a one-on-one conversation with
second-year men's basketball head coach Pat Chambers. The two discuss Chambers'
first season at the helm of the Terriers as well as the expectations for the
team coming into this season and the progress his team has made in the 2010-11
campaign.
Frede also takes you on a tour of the 2010-11 season
throughout the conference, documenting how injuries have played a factor for so
many teams this year. In the Best of U segment, Frede again focuses on injuries
as he features a trio of New Hampshire women's basketball players who have
overcome a laundry list of injuries to return to the court. Junior forward
Denise Beliveau, sophomore guard Abigail LaRosa and freshman guard Kelsey Hogan
talk about injuries, redshirting and the perseverance required to return from
multiple setbacks.
Another segment features Maine junior guard Gerald McLemore.
McLemore talks about his approach to the game of basketball and what it means
to him to be a team player. His head coach, Ted Woodward, also chimes in on the
star's importance to Black Bear success. Off the court, the San Diego native
gives insight into why he chose to travel the 3,323 miles to attend the
University of Maine in Orono, Maine.
Finally, On Campus gives an all-access look at first-year
head coach John Gallagher as he was miked up for the Hawks' game at New
Hampshire on January 11. Fans get to hear the coach in the locker room for
pre-game, halftime and post-game talks with the team as well as in-game audio.
