In this edition of "America East Online", the show profiles the latest stories and achievements of the America East Conference. America East Online is a 20-minute web-only show which features all nine of the conference's campuses and highlights athletics, academics and leadership.

The episode begins with a look back at the 2011 MLS Draft, in which UMBC striker Levi Houapeu was selected with the 41st overall pick. This segment includes interview with Houapeu and UMBC head coach Pete Caringi, as they discuss the work ethic and determination Houapeu developed to become an MLS prospect.

The next segment is the first part in a four-part series profiling former coaches of the America East Conference. This week, former Maine women's basketball head coaches Joanne P. McCallie  and Sharon Versyp discuss leading the Black Bears program to great heights in the late 1990's and early 2000's.

As Stony Brook athletics has grown by leaps and bounds throughout its transition to the Division I level, so too has the musical creativity and influence of the pep band. In this pep band profile, Stony Brook Director of Athletic Bands John Leddy talks about how the pep band has grown and the work that goes in to making each game a unique experience.

The episode concludes with the Best Of U. series. This Best of U. profiles the four America East men's basketball coaches involved in Shots From the Heart, an event aiming to increase the awareness of heart related illness. This event, which is put on by shots from the heart, includes Albany head coach Will Brown, Maine head coach Ted Woodward, Stony Brook head coach Steve Pikiell and Vermont head coach Mike Lonergan.

The show, hosted by Max Mandel, will be available every Wednesday throughout the basketball season. Fans can watch the web show at the America East Zone on AmericaEast.com, as well as on the league's social media web sites such as YouTube and Facebook.
