Q. Why I Chose Stony Brook University:
A- I chose Stony
Brook University
because I wanted to help change the program around. Stony Brook hasn’t had a
winning season in awhile and I wanted to put our program on the map.
Q. Favorite class and why:
A- My favorite class so far this semester is Sociology of
Technology. I like all of my Sociology classes but this one is the most
interesting because every day we learn something that we can relate to in
life.
Q. One thing I have learned at Stony Brook that I will carry
with me for the rest of my life is:
A- The one thing that I have learned while being a Stony
Brook Seawolf that I will carry with me for the rest of my life is that it’s
important to work hard in school and in life. Everyone here wants that for me
and it’s just as important to work hard on the court as it is in the classroom.
They don’t accept just being an athlete here, you have to be a student-athlete.
Q. My Dream Job, other than the NBA/WNBA, is:
A- My dream job after college is to be a teacher or possibly
a sports agent or scout.
Q. The person, other than my parents, who has had the most
influence on me is, and why:
A- Every coach I have had since high school has had much
influence on me. I have listened to every speech they have given me and all of
them have influenced me in some way or another.
Q. The best thing about being a Stony Brook Seawolf is:
A- The best thing about being a Stony Brook Seawolf is being
the underdog.
Q. Most memorable moment as an athlete:
A-My most memorable moment as an athlete winning my state
championship in high school.
Q. What I did this week as a student (classes, tests,
projects, study hall):
A-This week as a student has been one of the toughest for me
since I’ve been at Stony Brook. I have 2 tests this week but they are in the
classes that I’ve missed the most for basketball. They are both Sociology
classes but they are different topics so I’ve been making sure I’m caught up on
the readings and take notes during class. I attended study groups for both of
them and also have a take home test in Religion that I need to finish before we
leave for New Hampshire. My
academic advisor gave us more study hall so we can get everything done.
Q. What I did this week as an athlete (practice, games):
A- We played a great game against Boston
last week on senior night and won. We got a few days off which was great
because we did not have a game over the weekend. We lifted on Friday and then
had a great practice on Sunday. This week we have HartfordNew Hampshire left and then
we’ll be preparing for the tournament.

Q. Based upon my experiences growing up, my advice for young
kids about school and athletics is:
A- My advice to young kids about school and athletics is that
if this is really your dream, if playing basketball is really the thing you
want to do with your life, then you need to get in the gym and work hard. But
if you just do that and don’t do anything with your mind, you won’t go anywhere
with basketball. You can’t achieve your dream without school.
Q. Why I am looking forward to the America East Basketball
Championship:
A- I am looking forward to the America East Basketball
Championship because we can win it and we are going to win it.
