Q. Why I Chose Binghamton University:
A- The basketball program and the facilities are great.
B- The academic program gives you the opportunity to succeed at any career that you will choose.
Q. Favorite class and why:
A- Philosophy/ Law. I like reasoning everything in my life. Philosophy has helped me to open my horizons and explore other sides of life. I believe that in life everything happens for a reason and therefore I view life from a different perspective than others.
B- Theater. Theater classes are giving me the opportunity to express myself and my feeling through art.
Q. One thing I have learned at Binghamton University that I will carry with me for the rest of my life is:
A- I have learned to be PATIENT. Nothing in life comes easy, and if does it will easily go away.
B- I have learned to Dream BIG and believe in myself.
C- I have learned that an uncommitted life is worth NOTHING.
D- I have learned always keep my eyes on the stars and my feet on the ground.
Q. My Dream Job, other than the NBA/WNBA, is:
A- I always wanted to be a journalist because I love writing. However, I always had a passion for music, acting and art in general. Therefore my dream job would be a career as an entertainer and maybe a Broadway actress.
Q. The person, other than my parents, who has had the most influence on me is, and why:
A- My sister. I am the oldest in my family and my sister is always looking up to me. She believes in me sometimes more than I believe in myself. She always says to me “Dora, you are the toughest girl I know” and that is enough to keep me going through life.....
Q. The best thing about being Binghamton Bearcat is:
A- The fans.
Q. Most memorable moment as an athlete:
A-World High School Championship 2003 at Brazil
Q. What I did this week as a student (classes, tests, projects, study hall):
A-This week I had to read the novel “Persuasion” by Jane Austen and Aristotle’s “Politics”. I also had to do lots of rehearsals on my role for my acting class.
Q. What I did this week as an athlete (practice, games):
A- This week has been by far a tough one for my team. We are down 2 players which has been a big impact for us, but we still keep working hard and looking forward to getting better every day as a team.
Q. Based upon my experiences growing up, my advice for young kids about school and athletics is:
A- Don’t ever let anybody tell you that you can’t do something. You are capable to do whatever your heart desires but you have to work hard to achieve it. Always believe in yourself and if you do, dreams will come true.
Q. Why I am looking forward to the America East Basketball Championship:
A- I am looking forward to the AE championship as a challenge for my teammates and me to test our strength and our toughness in order to have the best possible outcome.
