A- I choose Stony Brook University because of Coach Pikiell. I liked his energy and passion for the game. I knew that he would be a good coach to play for because his passion will never go away. I also chose Stony Brook because I liked the campus when I visited.
Q. Favorite class and why:
A- My favorite class at Stony Brook so far was African Studies with Professor Lynn Rubin. She had a way of getting us to think above just the facts and we had really good conversations in class about current events and how they are linked back to history.

Q. The best thing about being a Stony Brook Seawolf is:
A- The best thing about being a Stony Brook Seawolf is the energy that our fans and the community have about the basketball program. Everyone here wants us to do well. After one of our first games this year one of the construction men on campus stopped me on my way to class and said he was listening to the game on the radio and hopes we’ll have a good season. I was surprised because I didn’t even know him, but he’s cheering for us.
Q. Most memorable moment as an athlete:
A- My most memorable moment as an athlete was my dunk at Vermont.
Q. What I did this week as a student (classes, tests, projects, study hall):
A- This last week I had a lot of papers to complete. I always have 2 papers each week for Writing so I had to do those and I also had one for my Leadership class. I performed a scene for my Acting class and the teacher was really impressed by my acting abilities. In study hall I read my Women’s Studies book and looked at my notes because we had an online quiz we needed to complete.
Q. What I did this week as an athlete (practice, games):
A- We had a tough week of games but also had scouting reports, weights, treatment, and practices. We beat Albany at home on Thursday which felt great. We swept them this season, something that hasn’t been done in years. They are our in-state rivals so I was glad we played well in front of our home crowd. We lost in overtime to Vermont but came back and have already started to prepare for BU on Wednesday.
Q. Based upon my experiences growing up, my advice for young kids about school and athletics is:
A- Based upon my experiences growing up, my advice for young kids about school and athletics is that you should practice and work hard on the court and in the classroom. The harder you work early in life, the easier things will be later on. If you don’t work hard when you’re young, it will be so hard to compete in athletics or in the classroom when you get older because those guys have been working hard all of their lives.
Q. Why I am looking forward to the America East Basketball Championship:
A- I am looking forward to the America East Basketball Championship because I think, with this team, we have a real chance to win the America East tournament and go to the NCAA tournament. We have a lot of talent and if we all play as one, we’ll win.
