Q. Why I Chose Stony Brook University:
A-  I chose Stony Brook University because their medical program is really good. During the recruiting process, the coaches and academic advisor informed me of the reputation that Stony Brook Medical School has and I felt it would be a great opportunity to attend a college that is affiliated with a medical school. On my recruiting visit I fell in love with campus and the team.

Q. Favorite class and why:
A- My favorite class so far at Stony Brook has been my Writing 101 class with Clare Frost last semester. She really pushed me to grow as a writer and she expanded my learning more than I thought was possible.

Q. The person, other than my parents, who has had the most influence on me is, and why:
A- The person other than my parents who has had the most influence on me is my brother Todd because he taught me how to play basketball. When I was 7 and he was 12, he would always ask me to play pick up with his friends because they only had 3 people. However, when their 4th friend came I was always kicked out and had to watch. I’m glad he asked me to play at least for a little while because I learned a lot from him.

Q. Most memorable moment as an athlete:
A- My most memorable moment as an athlete was my senior year in high school when we won the State Sectional Championships against Old Tappan High School. I had my career high in that game, 21 points, but it was most memorable because the year before we were in the exact same position, but we lost to them. My senior year we played hard and beat them for the State Sectional Championship title.

Q. What I did this week as a student (classes, tests, projects, study hall):
A- This last week we started study hall and got into a routine. All of my teachers have begun lectures so I have reading in all my classes so far. Today is HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on campus so for my AFS 381 class we got into groups, conducted research on HIV/AIDS, and made educational posters to be presented at the event.

Q. What I did this week as an athlete (practice, games):
A- Last week we played Maine at home in front of a good crowd and we won, making that our third win in a row. I got hit in the face that game but our Athletic Trainer fixed my nose and got me back into the game in a quick turnaround. We didn’t have a game last weekend so our coach gave us the day off on Saturday. I relaxed a little, went to the men’s game, and then celebrated Kirsten’s birthday.
