Three Things I Can’t Live Without:
1. My Family ? they are my rock. They give me the strength and confidence to do all the things that I do. I lean on them with the going gets rough and they are always there to help me and give me advise. 2. My cell phone ? In a nut shell...I just love to talk. My cell phone is the way that I stay connect with my world...my family, my friends, my teammates and coaches...everybody. 3. My car ? It gets me where I need to go. I have a lot of class assignments that involves going into the public schools of Burlington and helping teach young children. Also there are times where I like to go out and visit my friends.
Q. Why I Chose University of Vermont:
A- Basketball is big reason for choosing UVM. I love the philosophy of the system that we use and I appreciate the sense of family and community that we have on the team. Also, the town of Burlington is a great place to live. The scenery is gorgeous and the people are really nice. The academics are strong here and there is a long tradition of good grades on our team and I liked that.
Q. Favorite class and why:
A- I took the class called “”Human Development of Relationships”. It is a very realistic class about how people relate to one another and I have found the class to be very helpful. The professor is one of the funniest and laid back teachers I have every met. She makes the class on of the most enjoyable classes that I have ever taken.
Q. One thing I have learned at UVM that I will carry with me for the rest of my life is:
A- I have learn about RESONSIBILITY. Everything that you do has a reward or a consequence. I have learned that you have to take responsibility for your life and that you are in control of most of the things in your life.
Q. My Dream Job, other than the NBA/WNBA, is:
A- I would love to be a world famous model. I think the experience of photo shoots and fashion shows would be exhilarating.
Q. The person, other than my parents, who has had the most influence on me is, and why:
A- My brother has had a great impact on my life. I admire and respect my brother. He has been through more tough times than anyone I know and yet has remained the most positive person. He is a motivated individual. He sets goals for himself and then goes after them with all of his ability. I really admire that in him.
Q. The best thing about being a Vermont Catamount is:
A- The best part is the history and tradition of the basketball tradition. The Burlington community is simply amazing and the support that they give us is even more amazing. To be a part of all of that is such a great feeling.
Q. Most memorable moment as an athlete:
A- My freshman year of high school our basketball team exceeded everyone’s expectations as we made it to the State Championship semi-finals. It was really great to experience that opportunity.
Q. What I did this week as a student (classes, tests, projects, study hall):
A- We had workouts very early in the morning this week so I went to my classes right after practices we over. Then I went to study hall so that I could get all of my school work done. After study hall I went to more classes that I had in the afternoon. After my afternoon classes I ate an early dinner because I then had a night class to go to. Because I try and schedule my classes around my practice times, I sometimes have to go to classes in the evenings but it all works out pretty well.
Q. What I did this week as an athlete (practice, games):
A- We had several games this week so there we did a lot of work preparing for them. I had a personal workout in the morning in our strength and condition room. Then we had practice and after practice we went as a team to watch game films of the teams we will be seeing soon.
Q. Based upon my experiences growing up, my advice for young kids about school and athletics is:
A- My advise would be to stay on top of all of your school work and don’t let yourself get behind. Because, once you get behind it is hard to get caught up, especially when you are in your competitive season. You need to anticipate that there are going to be distractions, but in order to play and succeed at this level, you have to be willing to sacrifice some things on a temporary basis. But if you can do that, it is really worth it.
Q. Why I am looking forward to the America East Basketball Championship:
A- The America East Championship is what you have been working for from preseason...in fact since the day that the season ended the year before. We train through the summer; we play nationally ranked teams to make us better - all with the ultimate goal of winning the America East. That is why I’m looking forward to it.
