NSCAA Honors America East Programs for Academics - AmericaEast.com

The Binghamton men's soccer team finished among the top five in NCAA Division I with a team cumulative grade-point average of 3.30, according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Dartmouth (3.46), Long Island University (3.44), West Virginia (3.36) and DePaul (3.34) were the only men's programs with higher grade-point averages. The New Hampshire men's team was also cited by the NSCAA for a grade-point average of 3.19.

America East had six of nine women's programs recognized by the NSCAA for outstanding academic achievement. Hartford and Maine each posted 3.33 grade-point averages to lead the way. Boston University (3.26), New Hampshire (3.20), Binghamton (3.08) and Stony Brook (3.07) also were among the top programs nationally.

Binghamton and New Hampshire were two of 43 Division I schools with both the men's and women's soccer programs posting grade-point averages of 3.0 or better.

"America East is proud of the recognition of these programs by the NSCAA," said Patrick Nero, Commissioner of America East. "It is testament to the dedication of the student-athletes, coaches and administrators on our campuses to succeed both on the field and in the classroom."
