DURHAM, N.H. ? The University of New Hampshire women’s
volleyball team played host to another successful “Volley 4 Holly”
event on Wednesday, May 14. The fourth annual “Volley 4 Holly”
tournament raised over $1,500 for the Holly Young Fund, while close to
30 teams competed including representatives from all 20-varsity
programs in the athletic department.
The event was created to raise money for Wildcat volleyball player
Holly Young, who passed away on Jan. 24 of this year after a courageous
three-year battle with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. The
funds raised at the event will go to Holly Young Fund.
Teams made a minimum donation of $50, while several sponsors helped
made the event even more successful. Village Pizza donated food for the
event, while members of the Binghamton University volleyball program
collected bottles and cans in the weeks leading up to the event in
order to make a contribution.
For those who would still like to make a contribution to the tournament
or the Holly Young Fund, please contact Associate Head Coach Stacy
Barnett at 603-862-4664.
