NEW HAVEN, Conn.. - Binghamton and UMBC, the top two seeds in the men's tennis field, will meet for the America East Championship after each won semifinal matches on Saturday at the Yale Tennis Center. On the women's side, Boston University and Binghamton will play for the women's tennis crown after winning semifinal matches on Saturday. Both championships will be played on Sunday at 1 p.m. and the champions will receive automatic bids to the NCAA Tennis Championship.

In men's action, top-seeded Binghamton upended fourth-seeded Boston U., 4-0, to advance to the title match. Second-seeded UMBC edged third-seeded Stony Brook, 4-3, in its semifinal match. The Retrievers, the defending championship, won singles matches at the fourth, fifth and sixth position and also took the doubles point to advance. In consolation action, Stony Brook downed Boston U., 4-1, to claim third place. View full results and schedule below.

On the women's side, top-seeded Boston University, the 14-time defending league champion, knocked off fourth-seeded Stony Brook, 4-0, to reach the finals. In the other semi, third-seeded Binghamton upset second-seeded UMBC, 4-3, to move to the championship match. In consolation action, fifth-seeded Albany downed sixth-seeded Hartford, 4-0. The America East Tennis Championship utilizes a format of three doubles matches and six singles matches. Doubles matches are played first using eight-game pro sets with a 12-point tie-break at eight games all. The team winning two or more of the doubles matches receives one point in the team scoring. The doubles matches are followed by the singles matches using a best two-of-three sets format. Each singles match is worth one point. A minimum of four points is required to win the team match.
