CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- Boston University sophomore Kaitlyn Mardeusz (Novi, Mich./Mercy) led the Terriers to the 2008 Jack Leaman Women's Championship title over the weekend en route to being named the America East Golf Performer of the Week for the period ending April 21.
Mardeusz finished third overall at the Jack Leaman Championship, shooting a 79 on day two to help the Terriers catapult four spots to first place. She shot an 86 on day one for a two-round combined total of 165.

Great Danes recorded rounds of 361 and 355 for a 716 team-total to finish in
sixth place out of nine teams at the CCSU Spring Invitational on Saturday,
April 19 and Sunday, April 20 at the par-73, 6,107-yard Stanley Golf Course in New
Britain, Conn. Freshman Corrin Conroy (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) finished in 21st
place at 177, on rounds of 92 and 85, to lead the Great Danes. Senior Maggie
Taylert (Ithaca, N.Y./Trumansburg) carded an 87 in the second round to finish
in a tie for 23rd at 178, while sophomore Amanda McPhee (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) recorded a
team-best 87 in the opening round and closed with a 93 on day two to finish
tied for 25th. Sophomore Jessica Signorelli (Fairport, N.Y./Penfield) rounded
out the Great Danes’ top-four performers with a 181, after rounds of 91 and 90.
The Boston University golf team finished second at the Massachusetts
State Invitational on Friday, April 18 at the Orchard Golf Club in
South Hadley, Mass. The team carded a 343 in the one-day event. Allison Hamilton and Ana Johnson finished in a two-way tie for fifth to lead the Terriers. Also last week, the Boston University golf team improved four spots from the first
round to take top honors at the Jack Leaman Women's Golf Championship
on Sunday afternoon in South Hadley, Mass. The Terriers shot a 333 on
day two to claim first place with a two-day total of 690. Kaitlyn Mardeusz finished third overall, shooting a 165.
The University of Hartford women’s golf
team finished as runner-up at the CCSU Invitational on Sunday afternoon
at Stanley Golf Course. Fairleigh Dickinson shot the best team
round (335) of the eight teams in the field on the final day and
cruised to victory with a two-day total of 657. Hartford, which shot
348 in the final round, was 22 shots back at 679. Fairfield (683), CCSU
(683) and Sacred Heart (699) rounded out the top five teams. Sophomore Sadie Heald
carded a final round 80, the best round by a Hartford golfer for the
tournament. It also tied for the low round of the day. Heald tied for
fourth overall with a 36-hole total of 166. Fairleigh Dickinson’s
Michele Holzwarth, the only other golfer to shoot 80 in the final
round, earned medalist honors at 159. Junior Megan Claxton also notched a top-10 finish with a round of 88. She tied for eighth overall at 169.
