Q: Three Things I Can’t Live Without...
A: 1 Smart food and Coke. This is the ultimate comfort food for me. When I want to relax at the end of the day...Smart food and Coke...that’s the ticket. 2. My cell phone... I love to stay in contact with my family and friends and my cell phone allows me to do this. 3 My bear...my bear is my security blanket so to speak. I take him with me on all of my trips. He sure has gotten me through some tough times.
Q: Why I Chose University of Vermont...
A: UVM feels like a “home away from home” to me. The coaching staff is amazing...I really like them. I love the team. My teammates are the best in the world. I like the Business School here at UVM. My classes are all challenging but I learn a lot. I think that the state of Vermont is the 11th province of Canada!
Q: Favorite class and why...
A: I like my speech class the most. I find it easy to speak in front of people anyway so this class is really easy for me. I have a lot of fun in this class...I just do what comes natural for me.
Q: One thing I have learned at UVM that I will carry with me for the rest of my life is...
A: Throughout your life lots of things are going to happen to you...some are good...some are bad. But the important thing about this is how you react to them. How you choose to handle adversity , I think this truly shows the kind of person you are made of.
Q: My Dream Job, other than the NBA/WNBA, is...
A: The ultimate job for me is to be a mother and be able to give to my children all the things that my mother was able to provide to me.
Q: The person, other than my parents, who has had the most influence on me is, and why...
A: Other than my parents, the most important person to me is my sister, Sophie. No matter what has happened to me, good or bad, she has always been there for me and I know that she always will.
Q: The best thing about being a UVM Catamount is...
A: I think the best thing about being a Catamount for me is being able to represent and continue the great Canadian tradition that here in the UVM athletic program. There have been so many great Canadian student-athletes here, that it is an honor for me to have been given the opportunity to add to that tradition.
Q: Most memorable moment as an athlete...
A: One of the proudest moments in my life was having my parents at the first college home game I started my freshman year. They had no idea that I was going to start and when I turned to see the look on her face, I don’t think I have every seen her so excited. I remember that day like it was yesterday.
Q: What I did this week as a student (classes, tests, projects, study hall)...
A: I had French and Statistics homework that needed to be handed in. I had to prepare for and give a speech in my speech class. I attended all my classes this week. I make pretty good grades so I don’t have to attend study table but I do just as much or more studying on my own.
Q: What I did this week as an athlete (practice, games)...
A: Monday we had a day off. When we practice almost every day, I really look forward to a day off. It gives me a chance to get caught up with all of my school work. Tuesday we had a hard practice followed by a strength and conditioning session. Wednesday I had an individual workout with my coach then we had a team workout to follow. We had a 2 hr. practice on Thursday and on Friday I had another individual workout followed by a team workout. After which we loaded up the bus and went to Hartford for a game the next day.
Q: Based upon my experiences growing up, my advice for young kids about school and athletics is...
A: Developing your basketball game is important, but without excelling in the classroom, your sport really can suffer. That is because when you do well in school, all of your extra time can be spent concentrating on Basketball. If you are struggling in school, you then need to go to study table or get help from tutors and this takes away from basketball time. Plus, more then likely it is your education that you will lean on in the end so it pays to concentrate on that.
Q: Why I am looking forward to the America East Basketball Championship...
A: If we can win the America East Championship then we can prove to everyone that we are not the underdog team ? we are a legitimate front runner for the title and that we can make a strong showing at the NCAAs.
