Q: Three Things I Can’t Live Without...
A: 1. My daughter Faith 2. My fianc? Andice 3. My siblings

Q: Why I Chose Stony Brook University...
A: I liked Stony Brook long before I even stepped onto campus. Having Goba here helped a lot and he was a big reason why I came ? he could tell me what is was like coming all the way from home. I really liked the coaches and committed to Stony Brook even before my first visit here. I also really like Long Island and it’s a nice place to live.

Q: Favorite class and why...
A: I loved my Sociology of Crime class with Professor Bugyi. The way he teaches gets the whole class to think about things much differently than they may have when they entered the class. He teaches the class from a basis of class discussion and we learn so much from each other’s comments when he facilitates it.

Q: One thing I have learned at Stony Brook that I will carry with me for the rest of my life is...
A: The one thing I have learned is that winners don’t quit and quitters don’t win. When things don’t go as expected, it doesn’t always mean it is the end.

Q: My Dream Job, other than the NBA/WNBA, is...
A: I’d love to be a Director of Network Operations, working right next to Bill Gates.

Q: The person, other than my parents, who has had the most influence on me is, and why...
A: The person who has influenced me the most is my younger brother Patrick. He is a good kid and does the things I do right after I do them, so I must make sure I make the right decisions in my life. He influences me to be the person that I am. If I step off the line, he’ll step off the line. I must be successful for him.

Q: The best thing about being a Stony Brook Seawolf is...
A: The best thing about being a Stony Brook Seawolf is the chance to cheer for other Stony Brook teams. I try and make sure I support other student-athletes because I know they are there supporting us. I also love being called a Seawolf. It’s an honor to be a part of this department and at the same time, I feel mighty when I am wearing my red and white.

Q: Most memorable moment as an athlete...
A: My most memorable moment as an athlete was the World Championships when I was playing for the Angolan junior national team in Greece. I scored a double-double, 14 pts, 18 rebounds, and did it against a 7’6’’ guy.

Q: What I did this week as a student (classes, tests, projects, study hall)...
A: This week in classes we almost got to go to every class; because of our travel schedule this semester, we miss a lot of classes. We played a lot of games close to Stony Brook when we had time off from school for Winter Break, but now that we’re back we have a lot of games far away so we miss a lot of classes. My teacher suggested I do some extra reading or research on my own to try and catch up so I downloaded a few documentaries for my Immigration class and did some extra reading.

Q: What I did this week as an athlete (practice, games)...
A: This week as an athlete I did just about everything. We lifted on Monday, and I had rehab every day with my Athletic Trainer. We played Hartford on Thursday and lost in the last seconds of the game. We practiced tough this week and watched a lot of film. We play Vermont on Sunday so I am hoping for a win. Hopefully we can get a good crowd.

Q: Based upon my experiences growing up, my advice for young kids about school and athletics is...
A: I would tell young kids to do your homework! If you get caught behind, especially as an athlete, you can never recover. You’re already behind because you have to miss class, so even if you’re a good student, you have to battle back to be successful in the classroom.

Q: Why I am looking forward to the America East Basketball Championship...
A: I am looking forward to the America East Basketball Championships because I am looking for a chance to redeem myself. The teams in our league are not that much better than us, and the athletes themselves, one by one, are not that much better than my teammates. We need to go to that tournament and show everyone what we are made of.
