A:: I chose UAlbany because of its rising basketball program and its outstanding academic reputation. I really liked Coach Brown and his staff on my recruiting visit and I saw the potential to create a highly competitive basketball program. The overall athletic environment, combined with the academic standards of the university made coming to UAlbany an easy decision.

A:: My favorite class that I took as an undergraduate student is Nutrition. I learned a lot about the effects of food on the body. It was important for me to learn this information as an athlete because so much about what we do and how we perform depends on our nutrition and how well we take care of our bodies.
Q:: One thing I have learned at Albany that I will carry with me for the rest of my life is...
A:: One thing that I have learned at UAlbany that I will carry with me for the rest of my life is time management. It is important to balance your time and always be prompt. As an athlete there are many things to balance such as class, practice, lifting, games, etc. It is important to develop good time management skills as a student-athlete so you have the potential to succeed both in the classroom and on the playing field. Time management skills are necessary to be successful at any level.
Q:: Other than playing in the NBA, my dream job is...
A:: My dream job, other than the NBA, is to be a stay at home dad. I really like kids and I think it is important for parents to be a positive role model for their children.
Q:: Other than my parents, the person who has had the most influence on me is and why...
A:: The people, other than my parents, have had the most influence on me are, my host parents and my cousin. I would say my host parents because they were a great support system away from home when I was in high school. They taught me the right way to live and had a positive energy about them. It was a good home to spend time in. I would also say that my cousin has had an important influence on me because he is a big part of my support system. He also played basketball so I always looked up to him like he was a brother.

A:: The best thing about being a UAlbany Great Dane is the fact that the Great Danes are the biggest dogs! Also, the opportunity to have a positive impact on the community is another great thing about being a Great Dane. Hearing Coach Brown’s jokes everyday also adds to the enjoyment of being a Great Dane.

A:: My most memorable moment as an athlete has to be winning the America East Championship last year and advancing to the NCAA tournament. It was such a great environment to play in and I’m so glad we got the win and were able to share it with all of the fans that were in attendance.

A:: Since we were traveling for competition for 4 days, I took all of my work with me on the road. I am taking an online course so I was able to do a lot of work on the bus. I also studied for my other classes, attended study hall, and wrote a paper for one of my education courses.

A:: This week as an athlete we were on the road for four days, first playing at Hartford and then making the trip to Maine. I played in both games, and practiced and prepared in between.

A:: Based upon my experiences growing up, my advice for young kids about school and athletics is to learn how to balance the two. Sport is important but education is even more important. Having an education will get you further in life than playing any sport.

A::I am looking forward to the America East Men’s Basketball Championship at Agganis Arena in Boston because it is going to be a great atmosphere to play in. The tournament is the chance for a lot of good schools to bring something to the table and show what they are capable of doing. It is going to be great competition and I am looking forward to it.
