CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- The Boston University and University at Albany field hockey teams each moved up in the national rankings, as the two teams head into this weekend's America East Field Hockey Championship as the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, respectively.

The Terriers (15-5), who defeated Vermont on Oct. 28 to lock up the No. 1 seed and the right to host the championship, moved up one position to 13th in the NFHCA/STX Division I National Coaches Poll released Tuesday. The Great Danes (14-4), who are seeded second for the tournament, moved up to 15th after being ranked 16th for three straight weeks. Vermont (12-6), the third seed, received seven votes after garnering 12 last week.

In the women's soccer rankings, Boston University (9-6-3) moved up two spots to No. 8 in the NSCAA/adidas Northeast Regional Rankings released Tuesday, after earning a share of the America East regular-season title with a win over Binghamton and a scoreless tie against New Hampshire last week. The Terriers, the No. 2 seed for the America East Women's Soccer Championship, were tabbed eighth in the Soccer Buzz Northeast Regional Rankings. The Wildcats (10-6-2), who grabbed a share of the regular-season crown and the top seed for the tournament, climbed two spots in the Soccer Buzz Poll to 11th and dropped one spot to 10th in the NSCAA Poll. Stony Brook (7-4-5) fell two spots in the Buzz rankings to 12th after a 1-0 win over Albany and a 1-0 loss at Maine last week.

In the men's soccer rankings, Binghamton (12-4-0) dropped two places to sixth in the NSCAA/adidas Northeast Regional Rankings released Tuesday. The Bearcats, who sit in first place in the America East standings with two games to play, fell to New Hampshire, 1-0, on October 24 and downed Albany, 3-0, on October 27. Boston University (9-5-2) moved up one spot to ninth after entering the poll 10th last week. The Terriers posted a win over UMBC on October 27 and tied Hartford on October 24.

The top three women's finishers from Saturday's America East Cross Country Championship remained steady in the USTFCCCA Women's Northeast Region Poll. Stony Brook, which took home its first-ever America East Women's Cross Country title, stayed fourth and received three votes in the National Poll. Boston University, which placed second at the championship, moved up one spot from last week to ninth, while New Hampshire slid down three spots to 12th after a third-place finish over the weekend.

On the men's side, New Hampshire climbed three spots to eighth in the Men's Northeast Regional Poll after taking home the America East Men's Cross Country title. Stony Brook, which finished just two points behind the Wildcats for second place, entered the poll in the 10th position.
