A:: Not only is it close to home, it is a good fit for me athletically and academically. I felt I could play right away and have an immediate impact on the team. Also, UMBC had my major, Financial Economics. Besides, my family and friends could continue to support me both on and off the court.

A:: American Studies 325, Pop Culture is my favorite class. We talked about music and different things in American culture that are pertinent to my generation.

A:: I will carry with me for the rest of my life is the importance of diversity. Being around a diverse group of people opens your mind to different points of view; you become a more well-rounded individual when you are able to step back and appreciate a different opinion.

A:: My older brother. He set the tone when we were growing up. In order to keep up, I learned the definition of hard work and dedication. He is the epitome of both.

A:: The best thing about being a UMBC Retriever is my teammates. We are all on the same page, have the same goals and are working together to reach the NCAA tournament.
Q:: Most memorable moment as an athlete...
A:: My most memorable moment is sinking the game winning shot against Binghamton my freshman year. We were down by a point with 6 or 7 seconds left on the clock. The ball was in bounded under the basket to a teammate. He dribbled and passed to me. I sunk the 3 with 1.6 seconds remaining; we held on to win the game.

A:: Since our classes do not start until January 29th, I did nothing for academics. It has been a nice break!
Q:: What I did this week as an athlete...
A:: This week we flew to Maine on Monday for a Tuesday game. Returned home and played Hartford on Thursday. Then on Saturday flew to Boston to play Boston University on Sunday.

A:: My advise for young kids is to work hard and stay focused. Do not let anyone or anything distract you from your goals and what you want to accomplish.
