The complete field for the upcoming 2006 Friendship Cottage Cheese America East Women's Basketball Championship is now set. Top-seeded Hartford will play host to the nine-team tournament on March 9-12 at Chase Arena at Reich Family Arena in West Hartford, Conn.
No. 8 Maine and No. 9 Albany will tip off the conference tournament with the first round contest on March 9 at 7 p.m. The winner of that game moves on to take on No. 1 Hartford on March 10 at 6 p.m.
No. 2 Stony Brook and No. 7 Vermont meet in the first quarterfinal game of the day on March 10 at 12 noon, followed by No. 3 Boston U. and No. 6 New at approximately 2:30 p.m. The day's final match-up pits No. 4 Binghamton versus No. 5 UMBC at approximately 8:30 p.m.
For the fifth-straight season the America East Women's Basketball Championship will take place at the University of Hartford's Chase Arena at The Reich Family Pavilion on March 9-12 and will be sponsored by Friendship Cottage Cheese. The host Hawks were victorious at the 2005 Friendship Cottage Cheese America East Women's Basketball Championship.
