2004 Friendship Cottage Cheese America East Women's Basketball Championship 

The winner of the 2004 Friendship Cottage Cheese America East Women's Basketball Championship receives an automatic bid in the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. The University of Hartford will host the championship for the third consecutive year at the Chase Family Arena at The Sports Center.

Bracket Breakdown
First Round: Wednesday, March 10 at The Chase Family Arena, West Hartford, Conn.

  • Session #1:
    Game 1-- No. 7 Northeastern vs. No. 10 UMBC, 7 p.m.
    Game 2-- No. 8 New Hampshire vs. No. 9 Stony Brook, 30 minutes following completion of Game 1

    Quarterfinals: Thursday, March 11 at The Chase Family Arena, West Hartford, Conn.

  • Session #2:
    Game 3-- No. 3 Boston University vs. No. 6 Vermont, 12 noon
    Game 4-- No. 2 Binghamton vs. Winner Game 1, 30 minutes following completion of Game 3
  • Session #3:
    Game 5-- No. 1 Maine vs. Winner Game 2, 6 p.m.
    Game 6-- No. 4 Albany vs. No. 5 Hartford, 30 minutes following completion of Game 5

    Semifinals: Friday, March 12 at The Chase Family Arena, West Hartford, Conn.

  • Session #4:
    Game 7-- Winner Game 5 vs. Winner Game 6 (AE-TV), 6:00 p.m.
    Game 8-- Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 4 (AE-TV), 8:30 p.m.

    Directions to the Chase Family Arena in the Sports Center at The University of Hartford
    Traveling I-91 (from Vermont or New Haven) and I-84 West (From Boston) exiting to Wolcott Avenue:
    From I-91 South, take exit 35B and turn right at the end of the ramp onto Wolcott Avenue. From I-91 North, take the same exit and turn left at the end of the ramp onto Wolcott Avenue. From I-84 West, take exit 61 onto I-291 West. Follow to exit 1 (Route 218). At the end of the ramp, turn left onto Wolcott Avenue. Then...continue straight as Wolcott Avenue turns into Cottage Grove Road (Route 218). After traveling four miles from the exit, and after passing a major shopping center on the left, you will come to the intersection of routes 218 and 189. Take a left onto Bloomfield Avenue (Route 189 South) and proceed to the University of Hartford entrance less than two miles on the left.
    Traveling I-84 East (from Waterbury): Take exit 44 (Prospect Avenue). Bear left at the stop sign, then take a left onto Prospect. Follow Prospect Avenue to its downhill end. Take a right onto Route 44 (Albany Avenue), followed by a quick, sharp left onto Bloomfield Avenue (Route 189 North). The campus is a half mile on the right.
    Upon Entering Campus: Proceed counterclockwise around the campus, following signs to the Sports Center. The roadway is a one-way figure eight, and the Sports Center is at the far end of campus. Parking (Q lot) is located behind the Sports Center.
